Complete Distribution Capabiltities
For five decades, M. J. Electric has constructed and maintained overhead and underground distribution systems for numerous customers including electric-utility companies, municipalities, and cooperatives. We construct, upgrade, convert, restore, and maintain every aspect of distribution systems while focusing on system reliability. Even when working in critical outages or constrained schedules, MJE provides quality construction delivered on time and within budget while minimizing disruption to operation. The increased demand for fewer interruptions in service requires improved distribution line equipment methods and specialized techniques. The right equipment promotes management of distribution systems using safe and progressive procedures resulting in no interruption to power delivery. In addition to traditional construction methods, MJE has access to specialized techniques and technologies, such as energized services, to complete projects more efficiently and cost-effectively.
MJE’s dedication to safety and training has created an extremely qualified workforce with the experienced supervision and skilled manpower capable of tackling any distribution project. This combination of experience and ability enables us to assist utility clients from project concept to completion. We understand that considerable planning is necessary to manage the construction of distribution systems in terms of safety, operation, budget, environmental concerns, and possible coordination with government agencies.

With higher demand and growing infrastructure, improvements to the nation’s distribution grid have become evident. M. J. Electric is meeting the challenge by assisting utilities with upgrading their current electrical distribution grid into a “smart grid”. A smart grid employs new technologies within the existing grid to facilitate modernization of the distribution system. Using the present electrical infrastructure, a smart grid adds communication and control capabilities allowing for increased efficiency, decreased interruptions, and compatibility with renewable energy sources. These benefits are attained through advanced technologies such as two-way communication, smart metering, and distribution automation. MJE has the expertise to provide our customers a successful conversion from a standard distribution grid to a smart grid system for enhanced power delivery.
M. J. Electric is also involved in numerous long-term strategic relationships to perform electrical construction and maintenance services which deliver superior performance and added value to our customers. Through the identification of the customer’s core needs and the sharing of goals, these collaborative partnerships offer the most cost-efficient option to complement or supplement in-house resources. Significant benefits inherent to these partnerships are innovative and cost- and timesaving solutions, improved quality and safety, and enhanced management of risk.
