Conversion of the coal-fired Riverside Power Plant to a natural gas combined cycle plant. Three coal fired boilers will be retired and two new heat recovery steam generators will be attached to the existing steam turbine. The Riverside Plant is located in downtown Minneapolis, MN.

Kyger Creek FGD Retrofit Instrumentation - Cheshire, OH
American Electric Power - Columbus, OH
This project involves the retrofit of two CT-121 Chiyoda® flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems for all five units to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions. The project also includes the installation of a new stack with two wet flues, axial draft booster fan installation, and controls modification.

Nevada Power Company - Las Vegas, NV
Above grade electrical and instrumentation construction of a new power plant with two natural gas-fired, simple-cycle GE Frame 7 combustion turbine generators. The work included the complete electrical and instrumentation installation for two Nooter Erickson HRSGs, one GE steam turbine, and a water cooled condenser.

Weston Unit 4 Controls and Instrumentation - Rothschild, WI
Wisconsin Public Service - Green Bay, WI
Complete control and instrumentation construction for a new 500 MW coal-fired power plant. Scope included instrument installation, calibration, and tubing required for installation, including the tubing support for all sample lines.

Mitchell Plant Unit 1 & 2 WFGD Instrumentation - Moundsville, WV
American Electric Power - Columbus, OH
Above grade electrical and instrumentation construction for two SCR units and Wet Scrubber system for Units 1 & 2 at the Mitchell Power Station. Installation included transformers, switchgear, MCC’s, lighting, grounding, heat tracing, cable tray, cabling, terminations, and instrumentation. The scope also included upgrades for (2) 750 MW boilers including instrumentation replacement, burner and soot blower rebuilds, and control circuitry.

Biomass Instrumentation Projects - Virginia/Hibbing, MN
Laurentian Energy Authority - Virginia, MN
Instrumentation for the addition of new Biomass Boilers at two existing power plants including associated fuel handling facilities and emissions control equipment. Instrument modifications were needed for existing plant mechanical and electrical systems to accommodate the new boiler equipment and process.

570 MW Silverhawk Generating Station - Las Vegas, NV
GenWest LLC - Las Vegas, NV
PCI performed the calibration, instrument installation, air piping, chemical and sample line installation, process tubing installation, and provided checkout and startup support.
The power block consists of two Combustion Turbine Generators, two Heat Recovery Steam Generators, one Steam Turbine/Generator, and one Air Cooled Condenser. Silverhawk Power Plant won Power Project of the Year in 2004.
M. J. Electric also performed the electrical construction for the balance of plant, equipment, and miscellaneous systems.

500 MW Power Iowa Energy Center - Mason City, IA
Interstate Power & Light - Cedar Rapids, IA
M. J. Electric and Process Controls & Instrumentation completed the electrical and above grade instrumentation installation for the combined cycle power plant.
The installation included underground electrical, heat tracing, crane assembly, raceway, tubing and miscellaneous electrical components for the two combustion turbine generators and one steam turbine generator.
