The Harry Allen project received Lockwood Greene’s 2005 President’s Cup Safety Award by having 80,000 man hours without a single first aid case.

Completed in 2006

Pleasant Valley Station - Units 1, 2 & 3 - Dexter, MN

Great River Energy - Elk River, MN

M. J. Electric installed electrical and mechanical packages for the balance of plant construction for Units 1 & 2 at Pleasant Valley Station from the fall of 2000 to the spring of 2001. From July 2001 until the fall of 2002, M. J. Electric worked on Unit 3 at Pleasant Valley Station. Unit 3 is a Siemens-Westinghouse 501D5A unit (135 MW) simple cycle gas turbine generator.

Two 155 MW simple cycle V84.3A Siemens-Westinghouse combustion turbine generators power the plant. The natural gas-fired power plant provides peaking power to Great River Energy’s 29 distribution cooperatives.

M. J. Electric also installed the associated 8.5 acre 345 kV substation for the power plant.

Completed in 2002

Environmental Projects

Conesville FGD/SCR Project - Conesville, OH
American Electric Power – Columbus, OH

Above grade electrical installation for Unit No. 4 of AEP’s 780 MW Conesville Plant. Installation includes the flue gas desulfurization (FGD), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and the SO3 Mitigation systems.

In Progress

Brunner Island FGD Project - York Haven, PA
PPL Corporation – Allentown, PA

Electrical and instrumentation construction to install two FGD units that will serve three generating units at the coal-fired 1,483 MW Brunner Island Power Plant.

In Progress

Jeffrey Energy Center FGD Project - St. Mary's, KS
Westar Energy – Topeka, KS

The electrical construction for the project includes upgrading the existing FGD systems in order to return them to service and adding a Dewatering system. The Jeffrey Energy Center is a coal-fired plant comprised of three 800-MW coal fired units. Each unit includes a cold side Electrostatic Precipitator and Wet Limestone FGD system.

In Progress
