MJE completed phase one and two of the 22-mile Croton to Mecosta 138/230 kV Transmission Line Rebuild for Michigan Electric Transmission Company (METC). The line runs from the Croton to the Mecosta Substation. Existing structures were replaced with 226 steel structures, including 14 on drilled pier foundations, along with modifications to two existing structures. Much of the right of way runs along Pine Avenue road side and is home to the lupine plant, which is the natural habitat for the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly caterpillars. M. J. Electric believes it is our duty and responsibility to minimize the environmental impact of our activities, products, and services. Crews took special care along the project right-of-way to ensure minimal disturbance to this sensitive area. MJE Drilling was also on site excavating for poles and foundation work.
