Maurepas Pipeline
Darrow, LA
Maurepas Pipeline, LLC constructed a pipeline system in St. James, Ascension, St. John the Baptist, and St. Charles parishes in southeast Louisiana for the transportation of crude oil, vacuum gas oil, and butylenes between multiple locations. The system includes three separate pipelines as well as three stations located adjacent to the LOCAP tank terminal, Convent Refinery and Norco Refinery. MJE provided the conduit system for the incoming power including setting and connections of the main transformer from local utility, and to the Power Distribution Center (PDC) located in the new PDC building. The PDC building is furnished with the required motor control center including Variable Frequency Drives for main 2100 H.P. 4160 Volt pump motors and sump. Feeder breakers for auxiliary equipment were also included in the motor control center. An additional main 52 device circuit breaker were added to the motor control assembly line-up with Kirk Key interlock between the main breakers to allow for a stand-by generator to be brought in and connected in the event of a power outage. MJE supplied the feeders to the motors, step-down transformers, UPS, distribution panels, and branch circuits to auxiliary equipment not located in the PDC building. Installation included cabling to support the skin-effect tracing system; it includes both heat tracing cable and fiber optic temperature monitoring cabling. In addition, installation included a complete grounding grid including main grid and taps to equipment and grounding details for interconnect power and instruments connections to the PDC and/or Station Control Panel for station pipeline pumps, tubing, fittings and stands required for pneumatic connections to instruments, and finally a complete conduit system for interconnect power to lighting panel, light fixtures, and light poles. Further detail on the Maurepas Pipeline can be found on their website.
